Q. Where in Maine can I rent from FUN AND SUN RENTALS ?
A. FUN AND SUN RENTALS serves the beautiful sandy Maine beaches from Cape Elizabeth to Kennebunkport. This area includes Higgins Beach, Prout's Neck, Ferry Beach Scarborough, The Eastern Trail, Pine Point Beach, Grand Beach, Old Orchard Beach, Ocean Park, Bayside, Kinney Shores, Ferry Beach Saco, Camp Ellis, Hills Beach, Biddeford Pool, Fortunes Rocks , Goose Rocks,Cape Porpoise and Gooch's Beach.
Q. Is there an additional charge for delivery and pickup?
A. There is no charge for delivery and pickup between U.S. Route 1 and the ocean in any of the beach communities in the previous answer.
Q. Is there a minimum order size for delivery?
A. Yes. The minimum order size for delivery is $100 for any of the beach communities in Scarborough, Old Orchard Beach, Ocean Park and Saco. The minimum order size is $350 in Cape Elizabeth, and south of the Saco River. There is no minimum order size in the immediate neighborhood of our shop.
Q. Are discounts available?
A. Returning customers receive a 10% discount. Active duty U.S. Military with ID will always receive a 50 % discount, in lieu of all other discounts, when they rent from Fun and Sun Rentals LLC.
Q. Are reservations required?
A. While Covid restrictions are in place reservatioins are requiured to manage the number of people at our location. Otherwise, as to rentals, we have the most equipment for rent in the area but we are not always able to fulfill last minute requests, so we recommend reservations. Reservations are strongly recommended for Fun And Sun River Trips which almost always sell out, and required for Fun And Sun Guided Bicycle Tours, all Fun And Sun Sailing activities, and Fun And Sun Paddleboard Yoga..
Q. Is a reservation deposit required for rentals?
A. A deposit equal to 50% of the cost of the rental is required for large groups at the time of the reservation.
Q. Is a reservation deposit required for River Trips and Bicycle Tours?
A. Yes, a deposit equal to 50% of the cost of the trip is required for groups of three or more at the time of the reservation.
Q. What happens if I cancel my reservation?
A. If you cancel before seven days from your scheduled delivery day you will not be charged. If you cancel within seven days you will forfeit your deposit. We have to do this to ensure that equipment is available for our customers. The charge will of course be waived for legitimate health or family emergencies, and for inclement weather.
Q. May I pick up my rental items?.
A. Yes, during shop hours which are 9 to 5 (call for evening hours), or by appointment. We deliver and pick up everyday that we are open.
Q. When will my items be delivered?
A. We can usually schedule delivery and pick up on your schedule. Making a reservation early helps ensure this as our schedule tends to fill up.
Q. How do I pay?
A. You can pay with any major credit or debit card, or Paypal,. We do not accept cash because of Covid.
Q. Is a damage or cleaning deposit required?
A. No, but please read the next Q and A. You will be charged for cleaning if the equipment you return has been soiled with anything other than sand and river mud.
Q. What if a rental item becomes broken or damaged while I have it or if it gets lost or stolen?
A. You are responsible for returning the rental item in good repair and condition (that includes no missing parts), reasonable wear and tear excluded. If you do not, you will be charged for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of the part or item. Common sense will tell us both what normal wear and tear is.
Q. Do all paddles float?
A. No. It's not intuitive, but it is true. So please, don't drop one in the water. Paddle replacement cost is $50.
